Qualifications Apprenticeship applications, before being accepted as apprentices, must be able to meet the following requirements:
Equal Employment Opportunity The recruitment, selection, employment, and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex. The sponsor will take the affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required under the Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 30. When five or more apprentices are registered under this program, it is understood that the Sponsor will adopt an Affirmative Action Plan approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training and a standardized selection procedure, approved by the Bureau, will be adopted. Terms of Apprenticeship The term of apprenticeship including probation periods shall consist of 9,000 working hours to be divided into five (5) one year segments of training. Each one-year segment will consist of at least 1800 Hours of reasonable continuous on-the-job training and a minimum of 216 hours of related training. The Supervisor of Apprentices shall have the poser to shorten or extend the period of apprenticeship in individual cases in accordance with the apprentice’s ability to master the rudiments of the trade. |
